On Thursday 7 February, a group of Year 10 GCSE Drama pupils went to see a live theatre performance at the Nuffield Theatre at Southampton University.

The play, produced by ground-breaking physical theatre company ‘Gecko’ was a gripping and often unnerving production about a woman remembering her past through her own soul. The ensemble resembled her past in a variety of skillful movements, demonstrating to us the despair but joy in her life and her memories. The lighting and sound created the spooky yet thrilling atmosphere which all of us enjoyed thoroughly.

Despite the challenges of making sense of the multi-lingual dialogue, it was an amazing experience that was helpful for live theatre review and inspiration for our devised piece which we are currently developing in lessons.
