MBA Experience

In partnership with the University of Winchester Business School, Embley’s MBA Experience helps students develop their understanding of sustainable business and responsible leadership: skills that can be readily applied during higher education and in future careers.

Our MBA Experience supports our core purpose that each student is the best they can be by equipping them with the knowledge and skills that will empower them to make a difference; providing a supportive environment where they can develop the confidence to stand up to what they believe is true; and helping to instil in them a compassion for the world.

We are delighted to have guest lecturers from IBM, B&Q, The Eth Word, Firebrand Creative and Millbrook Industries leading our workshop modules alongside Carole Parkes, UN Special Advisor and Professor of Global Issues & Responsible Management at the University of Winchester.

In 2016, the University of Winchester was one of only three universities in the UK (and 30 in the world) to become a Global Principles of the United Nations Responsible Management Education (PRME) recognised institution which aims to develop a new generation of business leaders capable of managing the complex economic, environmental and social challenges faced by business in the 21st century.

Workshop Modules

  1. Sustainability and social justice
  2. Real leaders: real conversations
  3. Leadership and organisational success
  4. What is business strategy?
  5. Design-led marketing
  6. Financial management

Personality profiling

Using Carl Jung’s psychological types and individual preferred ways of behaving, you will understand your own personality traits and how you can adapt and use these inherent characteristics to meet the needs of different people and situations in your personal and professional lives. An action plan is designed for each student to complete and work on as a future personal development strategy.

Employability skills

A successful career will be underpinned by a student’s ability to apply their education and experience together with a mix of transferrable skills – often referred to as ‘employability skills’ or ‘soft skills – to a job. These skills include leadership, teamwork, communication, problem-solving and resilience.

All MBA Experience students will have access to the school’s employability micro-learning site which provides accredited learning content to help equip them with the skills they need to fulfil successful careers.
