Our outstanding co-curriculum offers access to high-quality activities for all. It provides opportunities for student leadership and challenge; it enables our young people to uncover new interests and talents, explore subjects beyond the classroom and build resilience; and it nurtures the growth of intellectual curiosity, creativity and independent learning.
We offer a wide variety of sports and our aim is to provide all students with the opportunity to participate in as many of these as possible. Alongside traditional sporting opportunities such as rugby, hockey, cricket, netball and rounders, we offer outdoor adventure activities. These include our Keelboat Programme which sees our fleet of Etchell 22s moored nearby at Lymington Harbour, golf on our 9-hole course within the school grounds and a national ski team.
These opportunities help build a variety of skills that help students to better understand themselves and test boundaries in a challenging, yet safe environment. They help develop confidence and encourage children to evaluate situations and take calculated risks – alongside broadening horizons and making friends.
Creative life at Embley is also very important. We have a purpose built Performing Arts Centre, Music Department with rehearsal rooms and a recording studio, and an exceptional Art Faculty covering conventional art techniques to textiles, ceramics and much more.
We encourage all our students to try different activities and it is our aim that by the time children leave our school, they will have found a passion in life and had new experiences that will have helped build character and cemented friendships.
