From Reception, our children develop a range of skills and techniques during Drama lessons. We place particular focus on improvisation and communicating ideas and feelings through expression and movement in real and imaginary situations, and our children learn to value the importance of evaluating their own work, as well as that of others and suggest ways of improving performances.
There are a wide range of performing opportunities for our children to take part in, including our whole school productions, Nativity, Christingle Service at Romsey Abbey, Verse Speaking Competition as well as the Year 6 Summer Production.
London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art (LAMDA)
We are a private centre for LAMDA examinations and year-on-year we have approximately 60 children taking examinations ranging from Introductory Stage One to Grade 3. From Reception upwards our children have an opportunity to take the external Verse & Prose LAMDA examinations and from Year 4 children work towards acting LAMDA examinations.
