Children from our Prep School, Boundary Oak Prep School and the New Forest School visited the Senior School as part of our Inter-Schools Festival of Science. All the children had previously taken part in science fairs at their own schools and the winners were then invited to come to the event at HCS.

Key Stage 2 children took part in an activity testing the starch, protein and sugar contents of different foods whilst Key Stage 1 investigated how much friction different liquids produce. All the children then watched a demonstration of the amount of energy stored in a jelly baby and saw how a rocket can be powered by just water.

Following the success of this event it is hoped this will be held annually, with more schools invited to take part next year.
