Embley is pleased to announce the appointment of Elaine Morgan as the school’s new Assistant Head (Co-curricular) and Head of Drama from September 2018.
Having completed an undergraduate degree in Drama (Performance) in Dublin, Elaine went on to study her PGCE in Drama at Goldsmiths, University of London. Elaine has been working at Surbiton High School for the last seven years during which time she has held the roles of Head of Year, Director of Drama & Dance and most recently, Assistant Principal (Co-curricular & Organisation).
Headmaster, Cliff Canning, commented: “We’re delighted that Elaine will be joining the school and our Senior Leadership Team. Elaine will be responsible for the strategic direction of our extensive co-curricular provision, further increasing its diversity which will encompass sport, music, drama, dance, the arts and other activities.”
Elaine said: “I am absolutely thrilled to be joining HCS and am thoroughly looking forward to working with pupils, parents and staff on the next phase of development for the school’s co-curricular provision.”
“For me, an outstanding co-curriculum offers access to high-quality activities for all. It provides opportunities for pupil leadership and challenge; it enables young people to uncover new interests and talents, explore subjects beyond the classroom and build resilience; and it nurtures the growth of intellectual curiosity, creativity and independent learning,” she added.
