Four of our Nightingale scholars – Paige, Megan, Chloe and Joe – took part in the ‘Top of the Bench’ Chemistry competition organised by the Royal Society of Chemistry where they competed against schools from across the south coast. Our students demonstrated such a high level of skill that they won the competition and are through to the national final in March.

They successfully completed a number of hugely challenging experiments (which were as diverse as explaining how a ‘love meter’ works and investigating how much salt is best to stop roads freezing in winter) and produced an engaging and informative presentation.
