Following the Government’s directive regarding coronavirus – Covid-19, our school buildings are closed. However, our business is running very much as usual for pupils and staff.
We are providing continuity in teaching and learning alongside exceptional pastoral support for our children and our Admissions team is available throughout this period to assist our new families. Individual members of staff can be contacted by email.
Pupils are using their school timetable as the framework for their programmes of study each day to ensure they dedicate the right amount of time to each subject, with teachers delivering lessons according to our timetable through Embley’s ecosystem of digital resources and communication tools which form our Digital Learning Strategy. Our teachers are monitoring progress and providing support and guidance, and using video conferencing where appropriate to assist in delivering the curriculum.
We are humbled by the grace and maturity of all our pupils for accepting the news that the school will temporarily close. We are particularly proud of all our Year 11 and 13 students who have persevered in light of the news about their exams. For these students, the long days and nights, the homework and revision sessions will not be in vain. They will receive the qualifications that they truly deserve, and as a school, we will endeavour to help and support them in achieving their absolute potential.
We are doing all we can to support our families with key workers so that parents can continue to provide their invaluable services to our community during these extraordinary times.
The way in which our staff, our pupils, their families and our wider community have come together and embraced the challenges we face today represents the core of Embley’s being; bringing out the best in everyone.
Thank you for your support.
