Assistance with fees

There are a number of ways that you may be able to obtain financial support to make our fees more affordable to you.

Means tested assisted bursaries

We offer a limited number of means-tested bursaries to children entering the school in Year 7, 9 and 12. They are awarded on a case-by-case basis and based on both academic ability and financial need and are reviewed annually.

We do not offer full bursaries and parents are expected to make a contribution to the fees. The value of the award is calculated on a sliding scale that takes into account the financial position of both parents’ income and assets. Please note that bursary applications for combined incomes over £70,000 may not be considered.

To apply for a means tested bursary, first you will need to register your child at Embley. We will then work with Bursary Administration Ltd, who administer bursary applications on our behalf, to help guide you through the process.

The deadline for September 2021 entry means tested bursary applications is now closed. We will accept applications for September 2022 entry until Friday 26 November 2021.

Emergency bursaries

Occasionally, parents are unable to continue paying the full fees due to unemployment or other circumstances. It may then be possible for us to provide a bursary or other short-term support to enable your child to complete the current stage of education. Normally, such assistance is provided to those pupils who are preparing for public examinations. We may ask parents to complete a bursary application for emergency bursary support, depending on the circumstances.
