Our Year 5 pupils had an amazing week at PGL, an adventure holiday centre on the Isle of Wight.
After a calm ferry crossing our group arrived at Alum Bay and enjoyed a picnic overlooking The Needles, a trip to the sweet factory followed by a visit to the glass factory where the children marveled at the expertise of the glass blowers creating vases and animals. Day one ended with the perfect evening activity – songs around the campfire.
Over the course of the next four days the children took part in a range of exhilarating, challenging and fun outdoor activities such as the climbing wall, abseiling, aeroball, archery and the high ropes.
They had plenty of time to enjoy the freedom of the outdoors, especially when they spent time on the beach, rock pooling and beachcombing; they found a range of seaside creatures including crabs, urchins, whelks, shrimps, silver fish, leeches, mussels and sea worms.
Evenings were filled with team games, quizzes and of course the highlight of the week was the disco on the final night.
Pupils (and teachers) returned happy, exhausted and sun kissed, everyone had a wonderful week!
